In April 2016, Jiangsu Haizhuang Metal Forming Technology Co., Ltd. (China Friction Stir Welding Center Jiangsu Base) successfully completed the trial production of the U-shaped wall products of a friction stir welding helicopter library developed for a company.
In order to meet the requirements of light weight, long life and high precision of U-shaped wall structure of ship and offshore platform helicopter storehouse, Jiangsu Haizi systematically carried out research on the key process technology of friction stir welding according to the structural characteristics of U-shaped wall plate. Demonstration, according to the structural design requirements and the characteristics of the friction stir welding process, the company ’s technical staff formulated a detailed and thorough friction stir welding process plan, and specially designed and developed a U-shaped wall welding tooling to ensure the effective implementation of the friction stir welding process. Its weld quality and structural accuracy both meet the design requirements, and the engineering application of friction stir welding technology in the splicing of aluminum alloy U-shaped wall panels is realized.
